An award-winning Dallas-area holiday favorite is celebrating its 18th season! Mooreland Productions is seeking comedic actors and expressive dancers for A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker!, written by Mark-Brian Sonna.
ABOUT THE SHOW
When food poisoning derails the Beulaville Baptist Book Club’s fundraising production of The Nutcracker, a stranded burlesque troupe steps in to save the day. Small-town scandal, outrageous characters, and festive bump and grind turn a respectable evening into holiday chaos.
SEEKING ACTORS
Performers with strong comedic timing, memorable character choices, and confidence interacting with a live audience. Actors should be comfortable with strong language, adult humor, and sexual innuendo.
SEEKING DANCERS — THE VELVET KITTENS
Expressive dancers with strong stage presence, musicality, and a sense of humor. Ballet, jazz, or musical theatre experience is welcome. Existing choreography will be taught; prior burlesque experience is not required.
This is a scripted theatrical comedy featuring playful, burlesque-style dancing. There is NO stripping or nudity. Dancers should be comfortable with suggestive choreography and theatrical costumes.
REHEARSALS
• Actor rehearsals: Duncanville, Texas
• Dance rehearsals: Location TBA
• Rehearsal schedule will be provided during casting.
• Tech/dress rehearsals: December 3–4, 2026
PERFORMANCES
December 5, 10–12, and 17–19, 2026.
Ten performances total, including Saturday 2pm matinees and 8pm evening shows.
Performers must be available for all performances and required tech/dress rehearsals.
Performance venue: The Oak Cliff Assembly
COMPENSATION
$200 total production stipend per performer for rehearsals and all 10 performances, plus a share of pooled audience gratuities. Gratuities vary and are not guaranteed.
