Fairy Tale Invasion
A  contemporary, student-centered production that explores friendship, responsibility, and self-confidence through the imaginative lens of fairy tales. Ava, a thoughtful but lonely student, agrees to work with classmates on a project about the modern relevance of fairy tales because she wants to make friends. When her group repeatedly arrives late, leaves early, and contributes very little, Ava becomes frustrated and overwhelmed by the pressure of doing all the work herself.

As stress blurs the line between reality and imagination, Ava is visited by familiar fairy-tale characters—Cinderella, Maid Marian, Robin Hood, and the Evil Queen—who closely resemble the people in her life. Each character struggles with their own flaws, offering Ava insight into courage, self-worth, leadership, and personal responsibility. Through these encounters, Ava discovers an important lesson: her story is her own to write, and she deserves respect and fairness.
Ready to stand up for herself, Ava prepares to end the unequal partnership, only to discover that her classmates have also learned something meaningful. They begin to understand accountability, teamwork, and the enduring relevance of fairy tales in addressing real-world challenges.

This production offers students an engaging blend of humor, fantasy, and realism while reinforcing key social-emotional skills such as collaboration, empathy, and self-advocacy. It encourages audiences to reflect on group work dynamics, personal agency, and how classic stories continue to teach valuable lessons in a modern school setting.
